An extraordinary recipe for an electric breadmaker - or do it the conventional way
500g solid white flour, in addition to extra for cleaning
2 tsp salt
7g sachet quick activity yeast
3 tbsp olive oil
300ml water
Stage 1
Blend areas of strength for 500g flour, 2 tsp salt and a 7g sachet of quick activity yeast in a huge bowl.
Stage 2
Make a well in the middle, then add 3 tbsp olive oil and 300ml water, and blend well. In the event that the batter appears to be somewhat solid, add another 1-2 tbsp water and blend well.
Stage 3
Tip onto a gently floured work surface and manipulate for around 10 mins.
Stage 4
When the mixture is glossy silk smooth, place it in a gently oiled bowl and cover with stick film. Pass on to ascend for 1 hour until multiplied in size or spot in the ice chest short-term.
Stage 5
Line a baking plate with baking material. Thump back the batter (punch the air out and pull the mixture in on itself) then, at that point, tenderly shape the batter into a ball.
Stage 6
Put it on the baking material to demonstrate for a further hour until multiplied in size.
Stage 7
Heat broiler to 220C/fan 200C/gas 7.
Stage 8
Dust the portion with some additional flour and cut a cross around 6cm long into the highest point of the portion with a sharp blade.
Stage 9
Heat for 25-30 mins until brilliant brown and the portion sounds empty when tapped under. Cool on a wire rack.
